Does my Phoenix Veterinarian Treat Exotic Pets?
December 8, 2016

If you need specialized veterinary care for exotic pets in Phoenix, look no further than North Central Animal Hospital. Since 1995, our Phoenix veterinarians have provided outstanding veterinary care for dogs and cats, and also for exotic animals such as birds, small mammals, ferrets, rodents, rabbits, reptiles, fish, and more.

Exotic pets have different anatomies that may require a different approach to healing and care. For example, you must pay special attention to proper caging, lighting, and nutrition to keep reptiles healthy. Ferrets’ teeth require regular dental care and brushing, while rabbits and rodents need teeth trimming, as their teeth never stop growing.

Specialty services provided by our veterinarian in Phoenix to keep exotic pets happy and healthy include wellness exams, physicals, dental care, nutrition consultations, initial and booster vaccinations, fecal examinations, parasite treatment, spay/neuter, surgery, and microchips.

Exotic Animal Care in Phoenix

Our animal hospital is one of the few Phoenix veterinarians where you can bring your exotic pets to receive specialized care. Our Phoenix veterinarian, Dr. Hillary Frank, was the first veterinarian in Arizona to be certified as an avian specialist by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP), and is currently one of only 150 such specialists worldwide. Dr. Frank has extensive experience with African grey parrots, Amazon parrots, and finches, as well as a variety of other exotic mammals such as hedgehogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, ferrets, reptiles, sugar gliders, and other legal exotic pets.

Dr. Ivy Thomas treats a variety of companion animals including dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, ferrets, reptiles, and other exotics. She is in the process of credentialing for the ABVP Specialty of Exotic Companion Mammal Practice. Dr. Felicitas Tantiyatyanon (Dr. Tan) has a strong interest in exotic animal medicine, holistic veterinary medicine, and small animal and equine acupuncture.
