Coleen O'Shea, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Coleen Bio Veterinary medicine is my second career. I grew up in rural Reno, Nevada where I developed a love of animals and nature. I channeled that love of animals into a Pre-vet major program at University of Nevada, Reno and earned my undergraduate degree in biological science teaching. I taught high school and college biology in the Phoenix area for many years. In addition, I have always been passionate about exotic animals. I volunteered with Liberty Wildlife in Phoenix for many years in their educational ambassador program and later as part of their medical triage unit. At the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine, I held the office of vice president of the Zoo, Exotic, Wildlife, and Aquatics Club (ZEWAC) and engaged in exotic medicine clinical rotations.

Personally, I enjoy yoga and hiking with my shepherd-mix rescue named Solo (short for Solomon). I have an adventurous spirit that includes travel and snorkeling in Cuba, Costa Rica, and Hawaii. My exotic pets include a desert tortoise named "Squinty" (he is probably over 40- years-old now) and a koi fish named General Tao.
